Week 15 physics

One the first day we spent most of the hour talking about what to do and not to do in a lock-down situation. The reason for this was to make sure everyone knows what to do if we ever have too. After that was done we where given a sheet with three graphs on it and told to find to of them and how they correspond. This helps so we are able to match up the graphs in the room. On Tuesday we turned in are mouse trap cars and we start on what we where suppose to do this day. On this day we look at peoples different graphs and the graphs they where given and saw the the other graphs they came up with to match it. If they where wrong we had to question them to they get it right. The reason for this was to turn are basic information into the point where we can explain or teach to someone else. On Wednesday, we talked about the mouse trap cars that we made. We had to take them in the hallway and measure the acceleration of the mouse trap car. Sadly, our most top car broke while testing. So we could not find the acceleration. I believe the reasoning for this was to practice for a assessment tomorrow for finding the acceleration of moving things.

Week 14 physics

I was not present on monday or Tuesday. On Wednesday we went over the assessment and answered the question that need to be answer about the assessment. The reason for this was for use to see how he grades them and to ask questions about the ones we got wrong. After that was finished we talked about a bowling ball and what would be the velocity of the bowling ball if we rolled it down the hall. So we went and tested this idea we had to find out a way to count the second and where the ball was. The reason for this was to get the the class active in the lab and knowing whats going on.On thursday we continue the talk about changes in velocity. We went in the hallway to finish up the lab. We came up with a couple of ideas to see which one would work we chose to place a person at each second if where the ball moved. After a couple of tries we got it. Then we came in to talk about what was the velocity of the bowling ball and how it changes. We found out that it speeds up and then slows down. This makes the velocity un constant. We went back in to the classand talked about everything thats happen we found out how to find the Acceleration with the two different velocities. The reason for this was so we can see the difference between the velocities. On the last day if the week we talked about accretion line graph and how they correspond with position and velocity graphs. The reason for this was to see how they match up so we can work with them.

Week 13 physics

The first fay i was not present for the class because i attended challenge day. But on the second day we did this lab with this car on a low friction lab and the ramp at a downward slant. We where trying to find the velocity for this car i she lets it slide down the ramp and we worked with the smart board to calculate everything we needed. We did this as a class so if you where falling along then we would all be on the same page. What we did on thursday find the definition of acceleration. To find the acceleration of something we went to the roof so we could drop things off of it. People brought in old technology so we could drop them we drop one phone we thought it would break but it didn't. The reason for this was so we can find all of the things we need for tomorrow. The next day, the last day we made a Equation for everything we found out yesterday we did all of this to find the acceleration of the objects.

Week 12 physics

On the first day we finished up all of the rest of the projects. This took up most of the class time with the different people presenting. After everyone was done presenting, we as a class look at this pulley lab he asked if the, if he lets it go one of the sides with a weigh on it will it make the pulley move. I said no, some people agreed but others disagreed. So we tested it and it moved. The reason for showing use this was to see who would be right about the lab. The next day we tested the same pulley with different weights and he let it go it didn't move. It turn out that yesterday that the weight was to small to be Accurate so he switch the weights with bigger ones. But then we did another test what if he gave one side a little pull would it slow down stop or move at a constant rate. I choose a constant rate and so did the most of the class. We tested this and we where right. The reason for this was to show objects can move and still be at a constant. We also answer some question on a piece of paper. On the next day each group was assigned a different problem and we white boarded and presented the problems. The reason for this was to make sure everyone is on the same page. On the next day we did this race car lab. We where trying to find was the velocity constant if the car is pulled by a weight at the end of a low friction track. We first found out if it takes alot of weight to pull the car. The reason for this was to see how it would act on the car. On the next day we had a assessment. The assessment wasn't very hard, it was all stuff that we have seen before. I fell pretty confident in this assessment. Once everyone was done with the assessment we finished up the lab from yesterday.

Week 11 physics

This week we presented are bridge designs. We also had a Presentation that went along with the bridge. During the testing of the bridge design we put weights on the bridge to see how much it could handle. When we where putting on the weights i was a little nervous, but we ended up holding all the weights possible. So in my experience this project was a complete success

Week 10 physics

On the first day we talked about the project that is due monday next week.we talked alot about the what you can use and what type of designs you can use to. We also talked about what is pulling or pushing more on the bridge the weigh on it or the earths forces pulling more. On the second day we talked about force pares and what are force pares. We did many examples to support and show what force paring is. On the third day i wasn't present in class. On the forth day we talked and went over what going to be on the test tomorrow. Are group went to the back of the class to study for the assessment. On the forth day we took the assessment it was pretty easy given the fact we had the same type of questions the day before. I believe that i did very well on this assessment

Week 8 physics

On the first day we where asked questions about how the three weights hanging off the table and how they can balance. we tested and tried many different ways to balance. We found that the different angles affect the balance of the forces. The reason for this was because we find do different angle effect balance of the forces. On the second day we got a sheet with different forces on them. There where eight questions and are group got question eight on the sheet we had to answer the problem and white board the data. The reason for this was to make sure that we got the concept of the different forces acting in the different problems. On the third day we presented the white board and saw in the different groups how the forces act in their problems. The reason for this is so we can see different problems. Thursday is the day we had did many force test the first was when we had 4 different people lay there heads on each other laps. All at different angles. We also dod other standing by the wall test. No body past those. The reason for this was to show how your center of gravity changes.

Week 7 physics

On the first day the majority of the class did there project. The project assigned was a thing called mobile. There where some very good mobiles. That where presented. This project was present to show how to balance thing. An i guess you can also say to learn more about people. On the second day we found out how to measured newtons and covert pounds to newtons. We used weights to learn a pattern in them or slope. On the third day we finished up the lab and white boarded our data. Once everybody was done with the white board we present the boards and compared them together as a class. The reason for this was to come to a Consensus or make sure everyone was on the right track. One the forth day we had create a lab and white board are data. The lab was testing the newtons effect on the spring. We made graph and found the slope all from the table we created. The reason for this was to see how Forces act on the springs. On the fifth day we took a Assessment on the things we did this week the assessment was a challenge Considering we didn't have a review this time.

Week 6 physics

First day talked about project that will be due monday and we covered some of the basic forces that act on things all around us. But on this day we mainly focused on the the different ideas for the project. The reason for talking about the basic forces was perpetration for our class lab tomorrow. The second day we talked a little bit more about the different forces and got to see how they work on dry ice. First we made a lot of different guess on the different forces acting on the dry ice while it was stationary. We
Talked about the different forces acting on the dry ice we soon found out that the two forces was the earth and the table. The earth was pulling it down, and the table was pushing it up. Than we Found the different forces that acts on the the ice while it was moving. The force was air. The reasoning behind the this was for us to see how the forces act against each other. On the third day we white boarded a forces graph so we can see the different forces on the dry ice and showed off are boards. The reason behind this is because we would have to make are own graphs tomorrow. On the forth day each group Got a different force on the sheet, each group was assigned a problem talked about two groups we got number 4 so we found the the different forces and graph them on are white boards. The reason behind tgis was so we can thalk about them tomorrow, sadly Mr. Abud couldn't be there.on the fifth day I ran the class. Mr abud left a Schedule for us to follow so all the groups circled up and we had a class Discussion about the different forces. The reason behind this was so the whole class gets to a Consensus. During the weekend is when me and one of my classmates worked on are projects together i took some pictures of mines.

Week 5 physics

On the Couples days of week five we talked a lot about the graph sheet and found out how the question corresponded with each other. The class got into what i call a class discuss circle so we can discuss each question together as a class. Each group was assigned a different question the first day we answer the first three question and discuss them together the second day we talked about the last five. I believe the reason behind discussing this as a class was to make sure every knows the right answer and is on the same page Hypothetically speaking. On the third day we all walked in to a surprise. The surprise was that we a lab called the t-bone lab. In this lab we had to get two toy cars to t-bone each other meaning to hit perpendicular to each other. In this lab are group was combined with another group because if the shortage off cars. We came up with a plan are plan was to measure both of the starting points to where the car is suppose to hit. We did that and tested the cars after a few adjustment to the distance angle and time started we had perfect t-bones in the practice part. But when we actually tried for the first and second time we did not succeed. So we went back out side to the hallway to make more measurements and on the third time got a t-bone on the spot exactly. After we had to white board how we did this. I think the reason for the lab and data was to get to things to meet at the same time and figure how to do so. On the forth day we talked about all the different ways people came up to get the t-bone lab right. After we pretty much review for the quiz tomorrow. On the fifth day we had to take the quiz and on the quiz it pretty much asked question that we have talked about in class. On this quiz i felt very confident and feel the i should have a hand full of fours on the quiz.

Week 4 physics

This week the first day we took notes and figured out different symbols for time, distance, ect. we started off that day very slow but soon pick it up. We had to find out what these symbols meant because we would be using them tmr.the second day we all pic up a sheet that had a number line at the top of the paper with arrows going right. The big question was how do we graph this number line in too a line graph we start off that day as a class very slow it took use a few minutes to start talking it over with are groups but we soon got back on track. We figured that the best way to graph it was by looking at the numbers and seeing what that, and the letter on it meant. We soon found a way to graph but ran out of time so we had to leave. The next day we had a sub and we had to figure out how to graph the line using the information we got yesterday we also write it on a white board. We where suppose to talk it over with the class but ran out of time. The next day we pretty much talked about what we did the previous day. It turn out the first line graph me and my group did was right but the second one we where off by a little bit. But sense we talked as a class we cane to the right answer The day after that we pretty much took a practice quiz to see how good we where with doing this graph and answering its question it turned out i still really didn't get it so we went over the sheet and thats when it started to become clear to me. This practice quiz help me with this material tremendously and I'm glade we had the chance to do it. Overall we learn a lot this we, how tell different symbols and read a physics line graph

week 3 physics

This week the first day, we went out side. we where trying to get the car to cross a line at exactly 20 seconds. My group we did some math and and we figured the best way to do this is by test the car and see how far the car would go in 20 seconds. So we go all of are measurements together so we could test it. The first time we weren't so successful, we had cross the line about three seconds before. But then the next time we did great, with a time of 20.08 seconds. We where very proud that we tied for second place in the class. The second, day, we only talked about the previous day and how groups got the times they did. Third day, we went to the room next door to design are what i call walking graphs. On this you had to use meters and seconds on the graph. The four day, consider of groups challenging other groups to walk the graph. So graphs were very easy, but some where very hard because you had to walk 7 or 8 meters in one second. After all of the fun we went back to class to reflect on this week before the Assessment tomorrow. Fifth day, we took the assessment i believe i did very well on this assessment considering i felt very confidant while taking it.

FIRST COUPLE OF WEEKS IN PHYSICS

In week three we did alot of exprimenting the the length and wieght of the stickes. first we seat down and talked about the sticks and found out how they where related. We found out which sticks belong in which groups. After we found out which group they belong to we tried to find the length and wieght of the the sticks. Over all we want to find out how the corespond. Once we figure how they corespond we made a graph, found the slope, then we found the equation. Once we had all are work on paper we put it on a white board to show the class. We talked about all the graphs in the room, and got to walk around and see all of the differnt graphs and how they relate in the room. a lot of the graphs had very simular lines but never the same. then we talked about them some more and moved to are next assignment. Are next assignment was finding the speed of the battery fuld car. first we had to find out what we where doing with car by asking questions and find out which one was the real big question. which was how to findthe speed of the car. The way we found out how to find the speed was by measuring the distance it traveled in a certain amount of time such as three seconds.
